A third generation family business
Robert and Son Paving is based at 6856 Reliance Rd in Federalsburg, Maryland. It is a third generation business, owned and run by Robert "Bob" Harrison as a sole proprietor. Bob was born and raised on the Eastern Shore and still works out of the same town. Today the business still does what it has always done: paving, sealcoating and repairs for homes, farms and businesses across this part of Maryland. What being local actually buys you
Anybody can rent a roller. What you cannot rent is knowing the ground. Three generations here means we have paved over the same sandy soil, the same high water and the same soft spring lanes for decades, and we have seen what fails and why. So we grade for drainage before we think about the surface, we build the base for the weight the property actually carries, and we tell you when a job needs more underneath than you were expecting. That is the whole difference between a driveway that lasts and one that gets redone, and it is why the towns we cover are the ones our trucks have run for three generations.
Homes and businesses, both
About half our work is residential: driveways, farm lanes, turnarounds, resurfacing and repairs. The other half is commercial, for churches, stores, apartment and mobile home communities, small industrial lots and the parking areas that go with them. Commercial work is built heavier and phased so the property keeps trading while we are there. The crew and the standard stay the same either way, and the same person answers the phone when you call afterwards.
Licensed, accredited and warrantied
We hold Maryland Home Improvement Commission licence #74385, and we have been accredited with the Better Business Bureau since 2018 with an A+ rating. Every estimate is free and comes with no obligation. All work carries a two year warranty, which is easy for us to offer because we are not going anywhere: same family, same town, same phone number, (410) 924-4174.
What we will and will not promise you
We will look at the job in person before we quote it, give you one clear number, and start when we said we would. We will tell you when a repair is the better answer than a replacement. What we will not do is quote a surface without seeing the ground it goes on, or lay new asphalt over a problem and call it fixed. Paving is not complicated work. It is just work that has to be done in the right order.
