Why property owners call us
We already know your pavement
Robert and Son Paving is a paving business first. We have worked driveways, lanes and lots on the Eastern Shore for three generations, we are third generation, and we hold MHIC #74385. Snow work grew out of that. The properties we clear in January are mostly the ones we paved, sealed or striped the summer before, so the edges, the drains and the corner that holds water are all familiar ground.
That matters more than it sounds. An operator who has never seen a lot in daylight is the one who finds the lifted edge with the blade. Winter here is wet more often than it is deep, with the temperature crossing back and forth over freezing, so meltwater and refreeze cause as much trouble as the snowfall itself. On the roads, the Maryland State Highway Administration handles the state routes. Everything inside your property line is yours to sort out.

What we handle
Snow removal services in Federalsburg
Snow Plowing
Plowing is the bread and butter of a Shore winter. Driveways, long farm lanes and small lots, pushed right back rather than skimmed, with the piles left where meltwater can drain away instead of running back over the pavement. Blade height is set for the surface underneath, higher on gravel so the stone stays put, and lighter again on new asphalt and fresh sealer. On a long lane, stakes along the edges before the first storm save a lot of guesswork. That is our plowing work on driveways and lanes, residential and commercial.
Commercial Snow Removal
A business lot is a different job. Entrances and aisles come first, then the stalls, and the accessible stalls and their access aisles get cleared properly instead of being buried by the pile. Where the snow ends up decides whether you keep your parking and whether the lot ices over at the first thaw, so we stack it low and away from doors, drains and sight lines. Tell us your hours and your priorities before the season and we plan around them. That is how we clear a lot for a business.

Straight answers about asphalt paving on the Eastern Shore
What areas do you cover for snow?
Federalsburg and the towns around it on the Eastern Shore. What we can reach during a storm depends on conditions and how many properties are waiting, so call early in the season.
Do you clear homes as well as businesses?
Both. Driveways and rural lanes on the residential side, and business, church and apartment lots on the commercial side. The blade work is similar, the planning around it is not.
How much snow before you come out?
Enough to be worth pushing, and we usually clear once the snow has stopped. In a long storm we may make a pass to keep a drive open, then come back and finish it properly.
Do you promise a response time?
No, and we would not want to. The storm decides the order and the pace. What we will do is tell you where you stand when you call, and keep you posted through the day.
Will a plow damage my driveway?
Not with the blade set correctly. We keep the edge just off the surface, take extra care on new asphalt and fresh sealer, and ride higher on gravel so the stone stays on the lane.
Can you fix what winter breaks?
That is our main trade. Come spring we patch the holes, seal the cracks that opened over the winter, and re-stripe the lines that the weather and the traffic wore down.
